Vantage Holding Company, LLC Provides Privacy Incident Notice | State

ERIE, Pa., Jan. 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Vantage Holding Company, LLC (“Vantage”) advises of a recent incident that may affect the security of certain information relating to certain individuals. The privacy, confidentiality and security of information entrusted to Vantage are among its highest priorities and Vantage takes this incident very seriously. Please note that Vantage has no indication that anyone’s information has been subject to actual or attempted misuse in connection with this incident.

At October 17, 2021, Vantage has learned that suspicious activity is occurring in certain computer systems. Vantage immediately launched an investigation to determine the nature and extent of the incident. At November 18, 2021the investigation revealed that certain Vantage systems were accessible on October 17, 2021, and that limited data, which may have included personal information, was taken by an unknown actor. Out of an abundance of caution, Vantage has begun reviewing the relevant data to identify personal information as well as its records to identify individuals’ address information.

To date, Vantage has determined through its investigation that potentially at-risk information includes certain individuals’ names, addresses, dates of birth and health information, including diagnoses or conditions, lab results and medication. Vantage has seen no indication of any actual or attempted misuse of any information in relation to this incident.

While not aware of the misuse of any personal information, as of January 14, 2022, Vantage has begun sending notices to those affected by this incident and has provided information about the event and steps that can be taken to protect its information. Specifically, Vantage encourages data subjects to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud, review their account statements, and monitor their credit reports for suspicious activity. Vantage also provides information on obtaining a free copy of their credit report, their right to place a “security freeze” on their credit report, and their right to place an initial or extended “fraud alert” on their file free of charge. Individuals can learn more about identity theft, fraud alerts, security freezes, and steps they can take to protect themselves by contacting consumer reporting agencies, the Federal Trade Commission, or the attorney general of their state. As a precautionary measure, Vantage also offers those affected free credit monitoring services.

Vantage takes this incident and the security of the information for which it is responsible very seriously. Upon learning of this incident, Vantage immediately launched a thorough investigation to determine the nature and extent of the incident. As part of Vantage’s ongoing commitment to information security, it is reviewing its existing policies and procedures regarding data privacy and evaluating additional measures and safeguards to protect against this type of incident at the ‘to come up. In addition to notifying affected individuals, Vantage also notifies state and federal regulators, as required.
