Globe creates holding company for advertising and data units

Philippines-based Globe Telecom has consolidated its portfolio of digital advertising and data businesses under a newly created holding company led by its CSO Nikko Acosta, as it seeks an operational boost.

AdSpark Holdings, part of Globe Telecom’s venture capital subsidiary 917Ventures, includes digital advertising agency AdSpark, multi-channel messaging platform M360, AI-powered merchant dashboard provider Inquiro and ad tech startup Deep Sea.

In a statement, Globe Telecom President and CEO Ernest Cu explained that his strengths and capabilities in data, advertising and customer relationship management for B2B can be found in various parts of the group. , where customer services are developed independently.

Cu added that it has become imperative to “increase operational efficiency, create compelling data and ad technology solutions, and innovate at the macro level to maximize opportunities.”

Acosta will serve as CEO of AdSpark Holdings and retain his role as group CSO.

Globe Telecom’s first-quarter non-telecom revenue rose 252% year-on-year to PHP791 million ($14.9 million), as AdSpark sales tripled.
