WOWorks, a St. Petersburg-based restaurant whose brands include Saladworks, Frutta Bowls, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, Barberitos Southwestern Grille, and Cantina, Zoup! Eatery and The Simple Greek, has appointed a pair of brand managers as its portfolio of restaurant concepts grows.
According to a press release, Lauriena Borstein will serve as Chief Brand Officer for Saladworks, Frutta Bowls and Zoup! Restaurant. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of WOWorks and General Manager of the Saladworks and Frutta Bowls brand.
“I’m thrilled to lead these better-for-you restaurant brands that have demonstrated tremendous growth potential to deliver the kind of nutritious, casual fast food customers crave – from soups to salads to fruit entrees.” , says Borstein. in the release. “They also lend themselves to a fantastic co-branding opportunity. John Geyerman, meanwhile, has been named brand manager for Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, The Simple Greek and Barberitos Southwestern Grille and Cantina. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations for WOWorks and General Manager of Brand for Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh and The Simple Greek.

The company has also expanded its C-suite with the creation of two VP of Marketing positions. They were filled by Lori Kern and Mark Kreiner, who, like Borstein and Geyerman, held other roles with WOWorks.
Following its recent acquisitions of Barberitos Southwestern Grille and Cantina and Zoup! Eatery, WOWorks, the statement said, expects to end the year with more than 400 restaurants and create at least 10,000 job opportunities in the restaurant industry.
